Alma Micic, with six studio albums as a leader, is one of the most sought-after vocalists on the New York jazz scene. She has been hailed as a “first-rate jazz vocalist” (All About Jazz) with a “voice that soars to the sun” (Jazz Wise). Born and raised in Belgrade, Serbia, at age 20, Alma moved to the United States to pursue music studies on a scholarship to Berklee College of Music. From there, she continued to thrive in the East Coast jazz scene and in New York, where she resides and collaborates frequently with her husband, celebrated guitarist Rale Micic.
Alma appeared as a guest vocalist on Eric Alexander’s recent album, “Timing Is Everything,” with the song “Evergreen,” which has been a top-rated track on jazz radio in the United States and Japan.
Her latest release, “You’re My Thrill” on Venus Records, has been voted number 9 on the 100 Best Releases of 2024.
